Therapy Approach:

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I utilize a variety of theoretical orientations, such as person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic approaches. By this, I mean that I will be genuine and authentic in session while encouraging the same from you, allowing you to direct the session, as I believe that you are the expert in your life. Also, I will help you to challenge your negative self-talk and other cognitive distortions while promoting positive changes through incorporating productive coping strategies and so forth.

I believe in expressing empathy, warmth, and genuineness in our sessions to help build trust. One of my ways of demonstrating this is by occasionally incorporating self-disclosure, should I determine that this would be beneficial to the therapeutic process. I do this in order to demonstrate that, not only do I have the education and professional experience to support my practice, but I am also an individual who has my own struggles and believes in transparency in an effort to destigmatize the need for addressing mental well-being.

It takes courage to seek therapy and to make positive changes in life. If you are ready for this, I am here for you.

I look forward to working with you!
