Therapy Approach:

I am a licensed professional counselor practicing in the state of Michigan. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master of Science in Counselor Education from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.

As a therapist, my approach is person-centered through proven therapeutic methods such as cognitive and dialectal behavior therapy. I seek to understand clients, starting with the initial assessment. From there, a measurable and realistic treatment plan is developed with the client. Then, evidence-based processes and approaches are aligned with the client's personality. I find that achieved outcomes are more easily practiced and maintained if aligned in healthy and natural ways for clients.

When I was younger, I had personal experiences that caused mental health concerns, and back then, it would have helped to have a professional aid me in identifying options so I could have made the best decisions for myself. This premise keeps me in the human service field, assisting clients through understanding without judgment, utilizing evidence-based practices to identify options that align with their values, and providing guidance on implementing the options they choose.
