Portrait of Kruti Quazi, LPC, NCC, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MoodRx.

Meet the founder

Kruti Quazi, LPC, NCC

Founder & Chief Executive Officer, MoodRx

For Kruti Quazi, exceptional mental healthcare begins with understanding the whole person, not just their symptoms.

As Founder and CEO of MoodRx, Kruti brings together an extraordinary breadth of experience in behavioral research, clinical leadership, and compassionate patient care.

Her career began in research at the Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute and the University of Pennsylvania's Behavioral Genetics Lab, where she contributed to pioneering studies exploring early childhood development, genetics, and the biological foundations of human health. This scientific foundation continues to influence her thoughtful, evidence-based approach to mental healthcare.

Kruti went on to lead counseling services at Valley Forge Military Academy & College and Rosemont College, supporting students through academic pressures, emotional challenges, and major life transitions. She later served as Clinical Director at Sesh, a national virtual group therapy platform, where she helped advance accessible mental healthcare and supported the professional development of clinicians.

A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and certified professional in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trauma care, Kruti combines clinical expertise with a deeply personal approach to therapy. She works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life's most difficult transitions.

Fluent in English and Gujarati, Kruti provides compassionate, judgment-free online therapy to patients throughout Pennsylvania.

Kruti founded MoodRx on a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves access to quality mental healthcare that is personal, compassionate, and grounded in clinical excellence.

Today, that philosophy guides MoodRx's commitment to making professional therapy more accessible, helping patients connect with experienced clinicians, use their insurance benefits, and receive the consistent, individualized care they deserve.

Getting started is simple.

Four steps, from first click to first session. Most people are done with step one in under five minutes.

  1. 1

Tell us a little about you.

A short online intake. Your insurance, what's bringing you in, and when you're available.

  2. 2

We match you to a therapist.

A real person at MoodRx reviews your intake and matches you to a Pennsylvania-licensed therapist who takes your insurance.

  3. 3

Meet online from anywhere in PA.

Your first session is a real conversation. No pressure, no sales pitch. From your phone, laptop, or tablet.

  4. 4

    Keep going at your pace.

Weekly, every other week, or whatever fits your life. If the fit isn't right, we'll re-match you. No awkwardness.

Questions people often ask us.

If you don't see your question, ask us. We'll answer it.

How does online therapy work?

We send you a secure, private video link before each session. You join from your phone, laptop, or tablet. Nothing to download, nothing to install.

Do you take my insurance?

We're in network with Medicare and most major commercial plans in Pennsylvania, including Aetna, UnitedHealthcare / Optum, Independence Blue Cross, Highmark, Ambetter, and Magellan. Check the full list. If yours isn't there, we offer flat self-pay rates.

What if I don't have insurance?

Self-pay is a first-class option here, not an afterthought. Our rates are flat. You'll know what a session costs before you book one.

How soon can I be seen?

Most new patients are offered a first appointment within two weeks of their inquiry. Many see a therapist within one week.

What happens in the first session?

Mostly, we listen. Your therapist asks about what's bringing you in, what you've tried, and what you're hoping for. There's no homework and no pressure. If you want to keep going, you book the next one.

Can I switch therapists if the match isn't right?

Yes. The therapist-patient relationship is the single biggest predictor of good outcomes. If the fit isn't right, tell us. We'll re-match you.

Is this confidential and HIPAA-compliant?

Yes. Every session is encrypted and private. Sessions are not recorded. Our platform is built from the ground up for behavioral health and meets HIPAA requirements for privacy and security.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. We are a therapy practice. If medication is part of your care plan, we'll coordinate with your prescriber, or help you find one.
